Friends of Cardiff & Carlsbad State Beaches (FCCSB) is a cooperating non-profit association dedicated to supporting California State Parks campgrounds and beaches in the North County area of San Diego. FCCSB recently become the 87th such cooperating charitable organization known as a "cooperating association." Those organizations collectively create a network that serves most of the 278 state parks in California. FCCSB is a non-profit charitable 501 (c) (3) organization dedicated to enhancing the educational and interpretive programs at the campgrounds San Elijo State Beach and South Carlsbad State Beach, as well Ponto, Tamarack and Carlsbad State Beaches. Cooperating associations in California such as FCCSB have more than 27,000 members dedicated to improving California State Parks and raising critical funding for educational and interpretive needs that are otherwise impossible for the state parks to meet. FCCSB was formed on April 1, 2009. It holds monthly board meetings on the last Thursday of every month. There are many ways to get involved in FCCSB, from volunteering a bit of your time to donating as little as $35 to become a member. You can also join our board, volunteer a church or school group, or commit funding for a project.

Carlsbad resident Bill Wisener elected President of

Friends of Cardiff & Carlsbad State Beaches

 

At its Nov. 17 board meeting, Friends of Cardiff & Carlsbad State Beaches named Carlsbad resident Bill Wisener as the non-profit group’s new President for a two-year term.

“Bill has been a key force helping our beaches organization grow over the past two years, first behind the scenes and most recently as the VP of our board,” said Bill Mahoney, founding board member of Friends of Cardiff & Carlsbad State Beaches or FCCSB.

Wisener is a former logistics executive, who was in charge of the supply chain operations for several multi-national corporations. He has also taught logistics at the graduate level.

“Bill’s expertise on our Project Committee helped us plan and execute many improvement projects recently in the local state parks at both San Elijo State Beach in Cardiff and South Carlsbad State Beach,” said Mahoney. “Bill will definitely take FCCSB to the next level as its new leader.”
